PUBLIC NOTICES 

 

In order to use these facilities a Transfer Station sticker or pass is required.  Please go to the Town Clerk's Office to acquire one. The permits should be visible on the lower passenger side of your front window when entering the transfer station.

Transfer Station Recycling - Household Waste Only

Aluminum

Beer & soda cans

Tin Cans

Rinsed, labels are Ok, also tinfoil/ pie plates 

Plastic

PETE & HDPE, rinsed with caps removed

Cardboard

Breakdown and keep dry. (Separate from Paper) non-waxed only

Glass

Rinsed & caps removed.  Labels are Ok. 
All glass is accepted 
EXCEPT windshield glass.  
We accept Fluorescent Bulbs from homes, NOT businesses.
We appreciate having the bulbs whole, if broken they must be in a bag. 

Batteries

All non-alkaline batteries (rechargeable, Ni-cd, Ni-mh, etc.),
car, boat, cell phone batteries

Ink Cartridges 

Must be in a bag.

Brush & Metal Disposal Center

Brush Pile

Restricted to brush & wood NO larger than 4 inches in diameter.

PROHIBITED:  
wood shingles & roofing materials, construction debris of any kind

General Metal Pile

Will accept old appliances, piping, water heaters, sheet metals, car parts, etc.

NO

construction debris or treated lumber of any kind, 
painted wood or cardboard

Special Metal Pile

Will accept mufflers, tailpipes, exhaust systems, or their parts, clean pails, buckets, wire & metal fencing.

 NO

tires, paper, or 
general refuse

PROHIBITED FROM ALL METAL PILES

Containers with hazardous waste, toxic or prohibited materials or containers that contain liquids or solids in any form, tanks or gas.

NO stumps

NO electronic waste
